Jane's Saddlebag is a lovingly reconstructed historical structure that preserves a bygone way of life in Kentucky. The "saddlebag house" is a traditional structure, featuring two rooms side-by-side that share a central chimney. Typically such buildings were rural homes, though saddlebags were also popular as tenant houses on larger farms. Jane's Saddlebag is a classic example that maintains the original footprint, foundation, two front doors and smokehouse, ready for you to explore and experience firsthand.

Pete and Nancy Jordan Blackmore purchased the home. Shortly after the restoration began, Pete's mother, Jane, passed away. The inheritance from the estate was used for the restoration and the project quickly took place in her memory.

Catherine "Jane" Blackmore was a grand lady who will always be a bright light to her family and friends during their life's journey. Jane was a loving Christian, sweet, genuine, faithful, classy, beautiful, spirited, humble, talented, nurturing, outdoorsy, generous, grateful, special, loved, blessed, and so full of life. She loved to shop and loved her painting and crafts.

Guests typically walk into Jane's Saddlebag and assume that Nancy is Jane... Even those who know she is not will end up calling her "Jane" and she answers to it! Jane is missed and her family is sure she would not only be happy about the naming of the destination, but honored that so many guests have enjoyed it because of her generous gift.
