Learn firsthand about local history.
Visitors can tour the flatboat and walk through the restored saddlebag
house, smokehouse and 100 year old barn. Jane's Saddlebag features
educational programs presented by Nancy Jordan Blackmore local author of
The
Story of Big Bone Lick.
Children can also visit Tokey the "talking" pony from the book, who has been
honored by the State of Kentucky as an Ambassador of Goodwill for the
Commonwealth.

What is Jane's Saddlebag?
Jane's is a hands on
historic educational experience. Complete with the old restored
"Saddlebag" home, original stone smokehouse, life size replica of a 1700's
Flatboat, 100 year old mortise and tenon barn, and live farm animals. The
backbone of the experience is The
Story of Big Bone Lick,
a children's book about
the rich history of this world famous fossil location.
Jane's Saddlebag features modern restroom facilities and is ADA
accessible.
